Ed Winchester

1970-2020

Ed Winchester began rowing at the Kennebecasis Rowing Club in 1986 and rose to be one of the most successful rowers from our club.  After 2 years of rowing he won the Junior Men's Pair at the National Championships in Montreal.  He won events regionally, nationally and internationally.  Several years after that he won the Men's lightweight pair at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in St. Catharines.

From 1996 to 2000, Ed was a member of the Canadian national rowing team.  His years with the national team culminated in 2000 when he won the Gold Medal at the Wodl Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

Ed continued rowing after his time with the national team.  He organized a Master's 8 every year that rowed for the Kennebecasis Rowing Club.  From 2010-2019, his 8 was always in the top 3, and winning 3 times.

Ed's legacy will always live on at KRC as proof of what is possible out of this club on the east coast of North America.
